Over the last 18 years, we have witnessed a global democratic decline and a rise in authoritarianism. Amid this trend, the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) offers an important platform to Reclaim Democracy, bringing together the world’s top human rights defenders and industry leaders to exchange valuable tools, knowledge, and resources in the struggle for basic rights and individual liberties.

The 2024 OFF theme, Reclaim Democracy, emphasized the pivotal role every individual — speaker and participant alike — plays within the global movement for freedom and democracy. Through inspiring theater talks, thought-provoking panel discussions, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities, and a creative expo space, attendees were encouraged to take part in these critical discussions and learn about the struggle for democracy directly from those on the frontlines.

Hosted on June 3-5, 2024, the event featured speakers including Twitter’s co-founder and former CEO, Jack Dorsey; humanitarian and real-life hero of “Hotel Rwanda,” Paul Rusesabagina; co-founder of Cambodia’s main opposition party, Sam Rainsy; and more.
