Espen Barth Eide

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway

Espen Barth Eide is Norway’s current Minister of Foreign Affairs, representing the Labour Party. He holds a cand. polit. degree from the University of Oslo. He has previously held ministerial roles in the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Climate and Environment. He also acted as the UN special adviser on Cyprus from 2014 to 2017 and served as managing director of the World Economic Forum in Geneva from 2014 to 2016. Barth Eide also chairs the board of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) and is a board member of both the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the Norwegian Atlantic Committee.
