On Sept. 13, 2019, the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) in Taiwan gathered the regional East Asia community for a one-day event with powerful talks, workshops, roundtable discussions, interactive exhibits, music, and shared conversations and stories that inspired action. Speakers included Hong Kong singer-songwriter and pro-democracy activist Denise Ho, North Korean defectors Yeonmi Park and Thae Yong-ho, and Pulitzer Prize-winning Burmese journalist Esther Htusan.
This is the time for people to stand up. When government institutions and corporations have their hands tied, it is up to the people to get back that authority.
