Frederica Jansz is a Sri Lankan journalist and the former editor-in-chief of The Sunday Leader, a Sri Lankan newspaper once known for its criticism of the government. Jansz began her career as a television journalist before moving to The Sunday Leader in 1994, taking over in 2009 after the assassination of former editor-in-chief Lasantha Wickrematunge. Jansz received death threats for publishing articles critical of the government, and in 2012, she was fired from the paper when it was bought by pro-government forces. She now resides in the United States and specializes as an expert witness for Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
