Philippa Thomas, an international journalist and academic, joins Dalia Hatuqa, an independent journalist specializing in Palestinian and Israeli affairs, on the 2023 Oslo Freedom Forum stage. They discuss the life, legacy, and story of Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed by Israeli soldiers while reporting in Palestine in May 2022. They seek to continue Abu Akleh’s legacy by advocating for freedom of the press and an end to violence and repression against journalists.
