Anjan Sundaram is an award-winning author, journalist, and television presenter whose war correspondence has won a Frontline Club Award and a Reuters Prize. Before going to Rwanda, Sundaram was told to expect a place that was calm, peaceful, and even a little boring. But what he found was much different. The world’s impression of Rwanda has been carefully crafted by its ever-present and oppressive government, led by Paul Kagame. Sundaram took the stage at the Oslo Freedom Forum to tell the other side of the story—the side Kagame doesn’t want you to hear.
