She has covered the attack on the American diplomatic embassy in Benghazi, Libya in 2012, Mali’s military coup in 2013, and ISIS’ growing threat in Syria in 2018. She has written for Foreign Policy, The New York Times, and Time Magazine. In 2019, she was given the Shifa Gardi International Award.
