Anas Aremeyaw Anas is an undercover journalist who gained international attention for his investigations into human rights abuses and corruption in Ghana and other African countries. Anas operates under the motto of “name, shame, and jail,” gathering evidence by going undercover to record widely acknowledged but disputed crimes. Since he began his work in 1999, he has covered police bribery of Ghanaian street hawkers, worker maltreatment, prison and psychiatric care facility conditions, child sacrifices, judicial corruption, and many other topics. In 2015, he premiered his undercover film, “Ghana in the Eyes of God,” which exposed widespread corruption within Ghana’s judiciary and led to the investigation of more than 100 judicial figures. Anas has received significant acclaim for his work, including the Heroes Acting to End Modern-Day Slavery Award by the State Department in 2008, the Africa Achievers Award in 2013, and a spot on Foreign Policy’s 2015 Global Thinkers list.
