Sandra Rodríguez Nieto is a Mexican investigative journalist who has reported extensively on government corruption and failures in the judicial system. She has worked for the newspaper El Diario since 2003, reporting on the links between corruption, crime, and drugs along Mexico’s northern border. In 2012, she published “La Fábrica del Crimen” (“”The Crime Factory””), a book chronicling the cycle of crime and social deterioration in Ciudad Juárez. Rodríguez was selected as one of Harvard University’s Nieman Fellows in 2014, where she studied ways to develop sustainable online journalism projects with a focus on government transparency and accountability in Mexico.
