Vincent Manoharan

Vincent Manoharan is an Indian rights advocate and founder of the National Campaign for Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), an independent human rights watchdog committed to the elimination of caste discrimination. For thousands of years, Dalits have suffered abuses, discrimination, and exclusion under a social and cultural system that fundamentally conflicts with the notion that all human beings are born free with equal rights. NCDHR documents human rights violations against Dalits and provides legal assistance to victims. Manoharan also founded the International Dalit Solidarity Network. NCDHR is the recipient of the 2007 Rafto Prize. Monoharan has continued be an outspoken voice on issues affecting the Dalit in the Catholic church as well as Indian society. He makes appearances and gives interviews as well.
