Pastor Seungeun Kim

Korean human rights activist and leader of a modern-day underground railroad

Pastor Kim is a prominent human rights advocate and the head of Caleb Mission, a Christian church based in South Korea. He passionately serves North Korean defectors and works tirelessly on their behalf, having rescued over 1,000 of them since 2000 and guiding them to self-sufficiency. He advocates for homeless North Korean orphans and better laws to help them find a family. His work earned him international recognition as a modern-day “underground railroad.” He has been featured in various media outlets and was showcased in the film Beyond Utopia, which won the Audience Award for US Documentary at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
