Mexican investigative journalist and author

Marcela Turati Muñoz is a Mexican investigative journalist, author, and reporter for Proceso magazine. She is the founder of Periodistas de a Pie (Journalists on Foot), a network dedicated to the training of journalists. Turati has gained international acclaim for her reporting on the consequences of Mexico’s devastating drug war. In 2013, she received the Louis Lyons Award for Conscience and Integrity in Journalism, granted by the Nieman Foundation of Harvard University. She is also the author of “Fuego Cruzado,” a book that tells the stories of the countless victims of drug-related violence in Mexico.
