Tracy Manners is Director of Global Affairs at the Oversight Board, the independent body set up to improve human rights in content governance on Meta’s platforms. Tracy’s career spans both legacy and digital media, working at the intersection of human rights and information integrity. Her current portfolio includes AI governance, systemic risks on digital platforms and information integrity in emergencies. She is also a Trustee at One World Media, the non-profit that supports independent journalism globally.

Tracy is a former journalist who has held leadership roles in media production, global campaigns and government relations including at the BBC, Save the Children International and at the Oversight Board. She led a campaign to repatriate children associated with ISIS fighters, drove influencing strategies to extract people detained in Libya and created industry-leading standards for working with communities, journalists and information-gathering in emergencies. Her career has seen her work in Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Gaza, and lead initiatives to build information gathering pipelines that are robust, safeguarded and reliable.
