Simon Powis is an Australian classical guitarist. Powis studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, London’s Royal Academy of Music, and Yale University’s School of Music, where he earned a Master of Music in performance. Powis was accepted as the first guitarist in over two decades to undertake doctoral studies at Yale. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists — including the Modigliani String Quartet and violinist Ian Swensen — and has toured extensively as a soloist, with performances at the Kennedy Center, Australia House, and the Banff Center for the Arts.
