Kenan Malik is an Indian-born English writer, lecturer, and broadcaster. He studied neurobiology and the history of science before becoming a research psychologist at the University of Sussex. Over the past two decades, Malik’s academic and journalistic work has addressed issues including the politics of multiculturalism, the nature of secularism, and the limits of free speech. He is the author of many books, his latest presenting a dissection of identity politics and its history. His most recent book, “Not So Black and White,” recounts a history of race and class as it relates to identity politics.
