Wai Wai Nu is a Rohingya Burmese activist and the director and founder of Women’s Peace Network. She was imprisoned for seven years merely because her father was part of Burma’s political opposition. She took to the 2017 Oslo Freedom Forum stage to discuss her life’s work promoting democracy, empowering women, and educating young people on differences in religious and cultural practices in the hope that the next generation will grow up in a more tolerant and free Burma.
