Jamila Raqib is the executive director of the Albert Einstein Institution, an organization focused on advancing freedom and democracy through nonviolent action around the world. At the age of five, Raqib and her family fled Soviet oppression in Afghanistan. She joined the Albert Einstein Institution in 2002 and works closely with its founder, Gene Sharp, the world’s leading scholar on strategic nonviolent struggle.
