Russian activist and performance artist Pyory Verliov is known for his provocative political performances and is the spouse and collaborator of Pussy Riots member Nadya Tolokonnikova. On the Oslo Freedom Forum stage, Verzliov shared his account of several provocative and politically charged artistic performances by the Voina Group and the feminist punk collective Pussy Riot.

Pyotr Verzilov is a Russian street and performance artist widely known for his provocative political performances. Verzilov is the husband and collaborator of Nadezda (or Nadya) Tolokonnikova, a Russian artist and member of the Pussy Riot feminist punk rock collective arrested while performing a “punk prayer” protest against authoritarianism in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Verzilov accompanied Pussy Riot to the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where they were invited to perform. Verzilov and other members of the band were detained during the protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the imprisonment of Alexei Navalny during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He is a member of the Ukrainian Military Forces.
