At the 2019 Oslo Freedom Forum, Gadoev talks about working toward ending Tajikistan’s nepotism and kleptocracy and bringing freedom, democracy, and rule of law to his beloved country.

Sharofiddin Gadoev is a member of Tajikistan’s opposition National Alliance coalition and Group 24, an opposition political movement banned in Tajikistan. On Feb.14, 2019, Gadoev was abducted by Russian and Tajik intelligence services in Moscow and flown back to Tajikistan, where he was arbitrarily detained for three weeks. He now has refugee status in the Netherlands, where he continues his activism to promote democracy in Tajikistan.
