Zarifa Ghafari

Zarifa Ghafari is an Afghan advocate, activist, politician, and entrepreneur. She is regarded as one of the few Afghanistani female mayors, and also the youngest to be appointed at the age of 26. Zarifa was included by BBC in the list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2019, and honored by the U.S. Department of State as an “International Women of Courage” in 2020. She currently lives in exile, where she continues to advocate for human rights in Afghanistan and globally.
