José González is a Swedish indie folk guitarist and singer-songwriter. Of Argentine descent, González grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden, following his parents’ escape from Argentina’s dictatorship in the 1970s. His musical career began in the Swedish hardcore scene before he went on to form the indie rock group Junip with Tobias Winterkorn, which debuted its first EP in 2000. González launched his solo career in 2003 with the release of Veneer, an acoustic album that was met with immense critical acclaim and international popularity. González recently released his third solo album, Vestiges & Claws, and continues touring with Junip when he is not performing solo shows.
