Josefine Opsahl is a Danish composer, cellist, and interdisciplinary artist described as “boundary-defying and remarkable” (The Strad). Bridging classical music with contemporary forms, her work integrates music, performance, movement, and visual aesthetics. Her recent major works include two operas, music for two ballets with the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen, and symphonic works. Opsahl has received numerous awards, including the 2022 Crown Prince Couple’s Cultural Stardust Award, the 2021 Léonie Sonning Talent Prize, and the 2020 Wilhelm Hansen Foundation’s Scholarship of Honor.
