Breza Race is program director at the Center for Applied and Nonviolent Actions and Strategies (CANVAS). She organizes fundraising activities and has successfully raised awareness of the organization’s work, goals, and financial needs to donors. She corresponds with all external partners on strategic planning, fundraising, implementation, and program evaluation. Over the last 13 years, Breza has worked closely with pro-democracy activists from around 50 countries, helping them to develop fundraising activities in the early stages of their movements.
Breza created a postgraduate program at Belgrade University in Serbia on the strategy and methods of nonviolent social change. She helped to develop the CANVAS Core Curriculum: A Guide to Effective Nonviolent Struggle. From 2016 to 2018, she was a teaching assistant for an online executive course on leading nonviolent movements for social progress at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
Before working with CANVAS, Breza worked for the President of Serbia as a project coordinator. She has significant experience working with youth activists around the world. She graduated from Belgrade’s Faculty of Political Science with a degree in social policy.
