Engaging UN Bodies to Free Prisoners of Conscience

May 26, 2025
16:30-17:30

Authoritarian regimes around the world imprison thousands of prisoners of conscience, often for their political beliefs or identities. State-controlled judicial systems provide little recourse for these prisoners. This panel will explore UN bodies and mandates that could pave the way to justice for detainees. Join us to learn how these bodies function and how advocates can use them to secure the release of detainees.
