Tenzin Choegyal is a Tibetan-Australian artist, composer, activist, musical director, and cultural ambassador recognized as one of the world’s finest Tibetan musicians. Drawing on the wisdom of his ancestors, he holds nomadic lineage central to his work while exploring innovative collaborations and new creative directions. Over a career spanning more than 30 years, he has performed across Australia and internationally and curated major events showcasing his artistic practice. A few of his recent releases include the Grammy-nominated album Songs from the Bardo with Laurie Anderson, the award-winning album Whispering Sky, and ARIA-nominated album Snow Flower with Matt Corby. His most recent release, Be The Sky, is a collaboration with Philip Glass, blending their two distinctive creative practices.
