Pete Pattisson is a video, photo, and print journalist based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He advocates on behalf of workers’ rights and raises awareness of modern slavery, particularly in South Asia and in the Middle East. His works have been published in outlets such as the BBC, Sunday Telegraph, TIME, the Independent, and The Kathmandu Post. Pattisson has collaborated with Save the Children, CARE International, and Anti-Slavery International. He has been awarded the 2003 Travel Photographer of the Year Portraits Award, the Amnesty Media Award, the Anti-Slavery Media Award, and the Webby Award. He has spent nine years documenting the conditions of migrant workers in Qatar in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. Following the start of his investigations in 2013, Pattisson’s exposé on the deaths of dozens of migrant construction workers in Qatar made international headlines.
