Egyptian-Finnish rights activist Soraya Bahgat exposes a darker side of the Egyptian Revolution:the rape and sexual assault of female protesters in Tahrir Square. She describes her own experience of avoiding a protest in Tahrir out of fear for her personal safety and how this experience led her to form Tahrir Bodyguard, a group of volunteers who patrol the square during protests to protect female protestors. Although the presence of women at demonstrations in Egypt is progress, there is still a long road to empowering Egyptian women in an equal society.
