Argentina’s Desaparecidos

Argentinian journalist Uki Goñi shares his experience working at the Buenos Aires Herald, one of the only media outlets to report on the human rights abuses of the military dictatorship in Argentina in the 1970s.He reveals how he chronicled the cases of the “los desaparecidos,” political dissidents who were kidnapped by the regime and never heard from again. Goñi stresses the necessity of giving a voice to the victims of the dictatorship at a time when much of the world turned a blind eye to the atrocities occurring in Argentina.
