Laila Haidari is an Afghan advocate who has dedicated much of her career to combating drug addiction in Afghanistan. Haidari took the OFF stage to speak out against Afghanistan’s role as the world’s No. 1 producer of opium, which has empowered the Taliban to wreak havoc on Afghan society. Despite the dangers, Haidari has emerged as a fierce leader in challenging addiction, misogyny, and extremism.
