Venezuelan filmmaker, author, poet, and nonviolence activist
Gustavo Tovar-Arroyo is a filmmaker, author, poet, and nonviolence activist from Venezuela. He is the founder and director of Fundación Humano y Libre, an organization promoting democracy and individual liberty in the Americas. Tovar-Arroyo directed the award-winning documentary “Chavismo: The Plague of the 21st Century,” which has been banned in Venezuela. Due to his activism criticizing the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, Tovar-Arroyo has been the object of countless attacks by the Chavista regime that have forced him into exile.
