Enrique Krauze is a Mexican historian, essayist, and the author of more than twenty books, including Mexico: Biography of Power, Redeemers: Ideas and Power in Latin America, and La Presidencia Imperial. He is widely-regarded as Mexico’s most prominent public intellectual. Krauze is the founder and editor-in-chief of Letras Libres and founder and director of Editorial Clío and he has written and produced several documentaries about politics and power in Latin America. He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the UNAM, and a doctorate in history from El Colegio de Mexico and has taught at the UNAM, El Colegio de México, and St. Antony's College at Oxford University. He the recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship and has been a member of the prestigious Mexican Academy of History since 1990.
