Raphael Adebayo, a Nigerian activist and author, co-founded the #EndSARS, #ReformPoliceNG movement in 2017. The movement aimed to dismantle the Nigerian police’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) due to extrajudicial killings and abuse. Adebayo organized the first nationwide protests in December 2017. In October 2020, during the largest protest movement in Nigeria’s history, he helped coordinate peaceful protests in key locations in Abuja.
