Hugo F. Rodriguez Jr. is an American diplomat with a distinguished career in the United States Foreign Service. Serving as the principal deputy assistant secretary in the Bureau of Consular Affairs since February 2023, Rodriguez has played pivotal roles in advancing US diplomatic objectives across various missions. Rodriguez has served in key positions in Italy, Peru, Mexico, Paraguay, and more. In 2022, he was nominated by President Joe Biden to be the US ambassador to Nicaragua.
