Kazakh activist, illustrator, and animation director
Ermina Takenova is a Kazakh illustrator and animation director currently based in London. Her artistic endeavors are profoundly influenced by her Kazakh roots, drawing from its rich culture, history, and mythology. Ermina’s works include: personal projects “Mankurt” and “Seven Mothers,” “Edward Said-Framed: The Politics of Stereotypes in News” for Al Jazeera English, “A Song of Resistance” concept art for director Bazla Samin, and many more. Ermina is an alumna of the London College of Communication (UAL) and the esteemed Royal College of Art.
