Bol Deng Bol is a South Sudanese human rights activist who heads the Jonglei Civil Society Network and Intrepid South Sudan, a human rights organization based in Jonglei State. He frequently speaks out against human rights abuses, corruption, and repression and champions the rights of victims of injustices. In December 2022, he was beaten and detained by police for taking photos of a demolition carried out by authorities. From July to October 2024, he fled into temporary exile after being summoned and nearly detained for organizing protests against the cost of living and unpaid salaries.
