At OFF 2022, we heard firsthand accounts of bravery and ingenuity and learned about the most pressing issues of 2022. This year’s theme, Champion of Change, is a call to action for you, our community, and audience — to act and advocate on behalf of activists and to unite in the common cause of promoting liberal democracy and human rights.

The power of the Oslo Freedom Forum centers on the connections formed at the event and that grow into lifelong alliances. So, in the spirit of our theme, we encouraged attendees to commit to working with someone they met at OFF over the next year on a project that champions change, defends human rights, and promotes democratic values.

Hosted on Oct. 3, 2022, the event featured talks from Toufah Jallow, a Gambian anti-rape activist and founder of the Toufah Foundation; executive director of the Hong Kong Democracy Council Anna Kwok; Iranian journalist and human rights activist Masih Alinejad; and more.
