Ortiz

Salvadoran Legislator

Claudia Ortiz is a Salvadoran lawyer, political scientist, and legislator who built her career as a civil society leader working on transparency, human rights, and citizen participation before entering politics. She now serves as one of only three opposition members in El Salvador’s 60-seat Legislative Assembly, having won and held her seat as President Bukele steadily consolidated control over the courts, the constitution, and the media. She remains one of the last independent voices for rule of law in the country.
