
Millions of women across the globe face an increasingly dire situation—violence,political marginalization, and harassment are just a few of the horrors that women are subjected to on a daily basis. In a panel moderated by BBC presenter Philippa Thomas,Egyptian-Finnish rights activist Soraya Bahgat, Lebanese correspondent Jenan Moussa, Ghanaian-British journalist Afua Hirsch, and American physician Lee Ann De Reus identify several factors behind the increasing number of threats to women’s rights, among them: lack of education, war, and religion.
