American installation artist Naomi Natale combines art and activism to increase awareness and inspire action. Natale’s latest project, One Million Bones, is an art installation commemorating the millions of victims of genocide in places like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, and Burma. Natale describes how the project combines education, hands-on art making, and public installations, to highlight the incredibly complex and disturbing subject of genocide. Through her art, Natale hopes to inspire a new generation of well-informed and optimistic activists.
