American attorney Kimberley Motley talks about her dramatic experience as the only foreign litigator in Afghanistan as she strives to promote the rule of law. She explains that the laws put in place to protect the people are often ignored, and she defines “justness” as using those laws for their intended purpose. She maintains that the lack of “justness” is not solely an Afghan problem, but rather a global one, and calls on lawyers everywhere to bring integrity back to their profession on an international scale.
