Former Iranian prisoner of conscience Marina Nemat shares her observations and experiences from the first years of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. She recounts the personal and political rights that were stripped of Iranians when the revolution began and speaks to the violence that she and her friends endured as political prisoners in Iran’s notorious Evin Prison. Nemat urges the audience to speak out in times of injustice and to identify their talents and strengths in activism to help make the world a freer, safer place.
