Russian political activist Denis Bilunov describes the current political situation in Russia and his role in the pro-democracy movement as a new community of activists emerges. He explains that one of the greatest challenges for Putin’s opposition is the fact that the Kremlin will not allow opposition candidates to be put on the ballot. Bilunov believes that the only language the government will respect is the language of force, and only when the Russian people demonstrate their willingness to stand up for their rights will the government begin to make concessions.
