How Girls Are Using Robotics to Build Their Futures

The Afghan Dreamers, an all-female high school robotics team, represents a new future for Afghanistan. Nearly half of all Afghan children are out of school due to conflict, poverty, and gender discrimination, and only 17% of Afghan women can read. Though the team has faced threats for their studies, members like team captain Fatemah Qaderyan travel the world to compete in global robotics competitions and inspire young women at home. Qaderyan aims to empower Afghan girls and women with technology and lead her country into the 21st century.
