Security expert, Defcon organizer, and Wickr co-founder Nico Sell reveals the ease with which companies and governments listen in on today’s personal conversations to exploit private information. Sell admonishes tech firms for selling the private information of users to data brokers. Many companies, she warns, are all too happy to divulge private conversations to government surveillance units, bringing us closer to an Orwellian world. Sell does remind us that resistance is possible, and that by encrypting our conversations and data, we can protect our freedom and secure our private communications from prying eyes.
