Ramy Essam, is an Egyptian musician perhaps best known for his appearances in Tahrir Square in Cairo during the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. He was one of the recipients of the 2019 Václav Havel International Prize for Creative Dissent by the Human Rights Foundation. Watch his speech and musical performance from this year’s Forum.
