Syrian cartoonist Ali Ferzat receives theVáclav Havel Prize for Creative Dissent at the Oslo Freedom Forum. Russian chess champion and rights advocate Garry Kasparov introduces Ferzat by reminding the audience that creative dissent comes in different forms and places, and the only way to fight dictators is to show solidarity in the face of such evil. Ferzat, overtaken with emotion, is adamant that mankind will always triumph over tyranny and states that the Havel Prize is “a new title for freedom and a new dawn.”
