Walid Ben Selim

Walid Ben Selim is Moroccan musician and producer whose music forms a bridge between the Arab World and the West. Walid comes from Casablanca’s hip hop scene and sings and recites his own poems, as well as classic and modern Arabic poetry with a strong message of freedom. He works with texts written by famous poets, like Mahmoud Darwish and Ahmad Matar, that call upon people to think for themselves and not to blindly follow ‘leaders’ and the masses, but to make their own choices in life. In 2019, Walid joined the Centre de Création Occitanie as an associate artist and formed the label “Le Rocher,” dedicated to New World Music.
