Trevor Timm is an American lawyer, writer, and the co-founder and executive director of the ;Freedom of the Press Foundation Specializing in freedom of speech and government transparency, Timm has written for publications such as The Guardian,Politico, and Harvard Law and Policy Review. He also assisted the former general counsel of The New York Times, James Goodale, with writing the book “Fighting for the Press: The Inside Story of the Pentagon Papers and Other Battles.” In 2013, Timm won the ;Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award for journalism.
