Ti-Anna Wang is a Chinese human rights advocate, born in
1989, and named to commemorate the victims of the Tiananmen Square massacre. In 2002, when she was 13, her
father—leading democracy activist Wang Bingzhang—was arrested for his vocal opposition to communism. Even though there was no evidence presented against him, he was convicted on charges of
espionage and is currently serving a life sentence in prison. Since
her father’s arrest and conviction, Wang has launched an international campaign for his release.
