Juliana Rotich is a Kenyan social entrepreneur. She is the executive director of Ushahidi, an open source software project for crisis response, originally developed to map incidents of violence after Kenya’s 2008 election. Since the election, Ushahidi has expanded into a nonprofit tech company that is increasing transparency and allowing individuals to share information more easily. Rotich also founded iHub, an innovation center in Nairobi that has incubated more than 150 tech startups. Her latest project,BRCK, is aimed at increasing access to reliable communications technology in the developing world.
